The last FAQ was, again, HORRIBLY outdated, being written before several key-points in my life, so seeing as though I hadn't updated my journal with much of anything ever since returning from England, I figured I'd rework this thing for the new year (which reminds me, Happy 2012, everyone!!), for the first time in... *cough* 4 years? Ahaha, wow.

I felt the breezes calling, so I thought I'd write up all of the questions I've ever been asked (and some I haven't), and answer them all at once right here.
Feel free to comment with more questions, and I'll add them to the journal!
In fact, I'd like to see people make their own, if they want! Let's get some clarity up in heahs.

Okay, so who are you, anyway?
I'm glad you asked. The name's H Hog, but you can call me H. I'm what you would call a "Sonic-type furry", who likes to dabble around in drawing, voice acting, comic making, and just a bit of spriting too, if I feel like it. I also like to hang around at forums, particularly Sonic Eats Rings, and more recently, Sonic Retro.

So what's with the silly recolor? I mean... an orange Sonic? Really?
Ah, well... see, I made my character back around 1999-2000, when the spriting community didn't really exist yet, and recolors weren't yet considered a crime against nature.

How old are you, and when's your birthday?
As of this FAQ's latest revision, 27. Look at my DevArt information. c_c
My birthday is October 6th.

What's this I hear about Sonic eating Rings?
It's a forum, with attached stuff like a Wiki, Oekaki and other things. It's a place people opened up to substitute the Moogle Cavern, which has been my favourite hangout since '99.

Yes, likely, not neccesarily, and maybe.
Even though it's hard for us to admit as much, Sonic Eats Rings, much like the MC before it, has become a bit of a closed-off community, who certainly used to welcome anyone and everyone, but over time, have grown more and more wary of new arrivals. Mostly since a lot of them tend to be a little ignorant of the goings on, or if they treat the board like a chatroom. If you REALLY want to go there, and it's your first visit, you may want to lurk around and see what we're like. Many common mistakes can be averted if you just read up on what the place is like beforehand!
Also, I can't stress this enough... Regardless of any cameos the place may have made in the episodes, the Moogle Cavern was NOT the "IMP Fan Forum", and neither is SER.
In fact, it's rarely mentioned there at all, and groaned upon when it is. If you're gonna go to there, go because you want to. Not because "HHOG'S SO KEWL".
And yes, I will answer any questions you have about the place, if you ask them IN PRIVATE to me. DON'T post a topic there, saying "hay guys whats going on in this forum and how does it work". Use an email, board PM, a DevArt comment or note.

Okay, so... Can I join the IMP?
NO. And don't ask me in the first place. It's ~Rogerregorroger who decides. And he'll probably say NO as well, so don't bother.

Can I at least cameo, then?
Maybe. Again, ask Roger. Though if you NEVER talked to him before (meaning; had a CONVERSATION with him, random unanswered shoutouts don't count), don't count on it. Why the hell are you asking ME for, anyway? I don't make the show, I just voice for it!

So who's Ginny? Is she your girlfriend?
Yes and no. Within the IMP universe, she is my character's girlfriend. However, Ginny herself is no more but a fictional character.

Making up your own girlfriend? That's kind of sad, really.

Besides, I do have an -actual- girlfriend nowadays; *Sassi16. My character's love life doesn't necessarily have to match that of the person behind him.

OK, fair enough. So hey, when will you (finally) make the next "The Horror" comic?
I don't have a set time for making these, so the basic answer is "when I feel like it", mixed with a dash of "when I have time for it" and a side-order of "if I can think up something funny for it to be about". To be honest I kind of ran dry on inspiration for it lately, and what little I think of just doesn't seem funny enough to be worth the effort. Back in the day I made these short "gag strips" with an audience which I knew would appreciate them, namely the people appearing IN them. Its comedy relied for the most part on the hilarious happenings in the Moogle Cavern, when it still existed, and while the community still kind of exists (albeit in a sort of "suspended animation" at this point), I just can't draw the same kind of inspiration out of it anymore that I once did. It may take years before a new one is made, or I might think something funny up next week. Who knows...

Can I be in The Horror?
I don't usually do "Cameos by Request". Mostly because the panels are too small for random background appearances, and I can't always be bothered to think up something especially interesting just for the sake of including you.
I suppose you can still ask, and if I'm feeling particularly benevolent I might keep you in mind if I AM ever doing random background appearances, but I'm not promising anything.

What game are those sprites from that you use in The Horror? And can I use them to make my own avatar or comic?
The Horror uses custom-made pixelart, handmade by ~Matrixx.
I don't think he'll make a big fuss over it if you want to use them for your avatar, I've used them to make avatar pictures for other people here, too. I'm gonna have to discourage the comic making bit, though. Not only would it somewhat cheapen my own comic, but we've been burned in the past by people who used those sprites to make shitty "Horror" knockoffs. But who knows! If you think you can surprise me with quality comicking, feel free to show me a sample.

When will you make the next "Smash Comics" comic?
A very good question. Again, I don't really make these on a set time, just when I think up something funny.
Honestly though, I haven't made any since before Brawl came along, even. If you want quality Smash Bros-related hilarity, go look for a comic named "Brawl in the Family". It's a lot funnier then anything I thought up, even if I already made a few of its jokes before they did.

Can I be in Smash Comics?
No! Of course not! You're not a Nintendo character, you silly person.

What sprites do you use for Smash Comics?
Errrrm..... A wide range of original or custommade sprites, often uncredited (I'm sorry!). Most of them were obtained at Psyguy.com , which I had the decency to link to on every page Smash Comics appears on.

Hey! Slacker! When are you gonna draw something again?
Ahaha! I AM a slacker, aren't I? The truth is, I do lots of stuff on the side of drawing. So I won't always find the time to do so. And even if I do, I may not always feel like it.

Will you draw me?
I wouldn't really count on it that badly. I only really draw people when I feel like it, as a gift for people I know fairly well.
So in that regard, I'm not promising anything. I'm having enough trouble finding the time doing the drawings I WANT to do, let alone what I'm asked to do.

How about a trade?
As of now, probably not, sorry... Getting a picture in return doesn't change the fact that I just don't have the time or motivation to draw as much as I want to anymore.

Well, if it means that much to you, I suppose I can manage that much... though I'd feel it might be somewhat unfair towards you if you drew me something cool and all I came up with is a silly scrap. But if you really don't mind that, I suppose...

By all means, I'd be flattered! I appreciate any and all gift art, and though I may sound like a broken record thanking you for it and telling you how awesome I think it is, I really do mean it. Be sure to TELL ME about it if you drew anything, though! I'm not equipped with a radar telling me "Hey someone made an IMP/H Hog drawing"! I'm afraid I don't follow deviantArt on a daily basis, and am very prone to, quite simply, missing things. If you made something you think I really should see, don't be shy to drop a message on my front page or a shout in my notes to let me know!

While there have been a small amount of racy drawings made involving the characters of my girlfriend and I, let's not delve into outright pornography, allright? We have our dignity. ;D

Why didn't you fav my art?
Aheheheh. I knew this had to come up sooner or later.
To be honest, I'm not the kind of guy who goes around adding each and every drawing I set my eyes upon to my favourites.
If I do that, I'd eventually have trouble navigating my own favourites page!
Also, if I were to add each and everything I like to my favourites, I feel it would somewhat cheapen the whole point of it being a FAVOURITE.
If you look at my favourites, you'll find they consist of:
-Artwork I find EXCEPTIONALLY impressive
-Artwork that I find EXCEPTIONALLY hilarious
-Artwork involving H Hog or the IMP
-Artwork I've had a hand in creating
And even then, not every drawing meeting any or all of those criteria gets added (and even some that don't, do at times...).
It all sort of depends a bit on how I'm feeling at the time, too. I'm only human, and as such, can be a bit fickle.
Heck, sometimes it just plain slips my mind and I FORGET to fave it, even if I really meant to do so!
I do apologize about that, but please don't think that because I don't fav it or forget to comment, that I don't really like it! I don't mean to hurt any feelings.

Will you voiceact for me?
Sure thing! I'm usually available to voice lines for stuff like flashmovies, radioplays or (fan)videogames! However, I'll be brutally honest here - I'm both busy, scatterbrained and prone to procrastination, and as such, will require frequent reminding for particularly large projects. I know this doesn't do wonders for any  trust or reliability one may have in me, but I figure it's best to just be upfront about it right now.

Jeez, how long does it take to record some voices, anyway!
While I may procrastinate, I also take care in delivering lines people can work with. If I have lines to voice, I generally prefer to have them all done in one go so that I remain accurate throughout. I try to do them as best I can, with as little background noise as possible (preferably none at all, of course!), free of echoing, and cropped from any unneccesary "dead noise". Things like this take time to set up, as I live in a busy area of Amsterdam and frequently have to cope with noisy traffic in the background.

OK, I can live with that, I guess. So what characters will you do?
I have a fairly wide and versatile voicerange, allowing me to do impressions ranging between fairly accurate to dead-on for characters like:

Why don't you ever go on MSN or AIM anymore?
Because honestly... whenever I get online, I usually get bombarded with people that want to talk to me and have nothing to say. To be perfectly honest, it HAS gotten less in the last few times I got on MSN, but I'm still a little scared to end up spending the entire evening gabbing to people until the late hours of night, and heading to work the next day with the energy of a washcloth.

Do you play online?
On occasion, when I find the time for it. If you wish to add me on any services that's fine, but I may not always have time to join parties or go multiplayer, as most of the time when I AM playing something I'll be having friends over who I'll be playing something with. Sorry!
